How is bait and switch different in the website hosting industry?
Data Flurry is a relatively new company to the hosting industry and recently had to take a look at its competition to decide marketing approaches to take. What we came across seemed very unfortunate for the consumer and the industry.

When researching we found several company's that would offer an amazing hosting service at an amazing price via Banner Ads or Text Links. However once you clicked in to the companies WebSite everything changes. Unfortunately this is happening on a larger-than-normal scale in the hosting community.

A great example of this was the following ad from Superb Hosting on hostreview.com

After reading that ad I was under the impression that this company offered web hosting with 50 GB traffic and 1GB space that included all these amazing features for only $1.50 per month. However that is false, when you go to their WebSite you find that $1.50 per month gets you extremely bare-bone hosting plan (only 10mb space and 2gb traffic). Also it isn't just $1.50 per month, if you pay month-month you are left at a over-charged $5.00 per month with a $10 setup fee. In order to get locked in at $1.50 per month you must pre-pay for 2 full years.

Unfortunately this seems to be a regular practice in the hosting company for the simple fact that the hosting companies want to get you to click on to their WebSite. However consumers BEWARE, make sure you do good research on all hosting companies to make sure they are what you need! (related article What should you look for in a web host?)
